One question people often ask me about is affiliate marketing costs. How much does it cost to build a business online? There’s no real answer to that question and I believe it’s the wrong question to ask. Instead you should be asking yourself, “What is an extra $1,000 or $5,000 or $10,000 or 20,000 a month worth to you?” What are you prepared to do for it and what value can you give to or what problem can you solve for others?
The amount you want to make is up to you but once you know you want to make, let’s say $5,000 a month, how are you going to do that is the next question. You could build a list in a hot niche market and cater to your subscribers needs with other peoples’ products or launch a product of your own or make a membership site and sell memberships to your site. Once you know what you’re aiming for…
Then you need to break down the numbers to know what your goal is to reach $5,000/month.
For example: If you had a membership site that charged $30 per month you would need 167 subscribers to hit your goal. ($30 X 167 subscriptions = $5010 per month)
Now this is where most people start panicking about the cost of getting 167 subscribers. “How much is it going to cost?”, they ask. Who cares what it costs is my answer, but just for the sake of discussion, what if it cost $60,000? It would not really cost anywhere near that but let’s say it does. Here’s my point.
If the end result is $5,000 per month, that’s $60,000 per year. Spending $60,000 to make $60,000 per year is a very sound investment indeed. Now the true cost would probably be more like $1.00 per subscriber or $167, paid one time only, to make $5,000 per month! What if it cost ten times that, or $1,670 paid once? Is it still a good investment? I think so. That’s what I mean when I say who cares what the cost is as long as you get the result you wanted.
One of the biggest assets that a Super Affiliate Marketer has that sets them apart from the average affiliate marketer is their mindset. They will invest in education to improve their online marketing skills just like a doctor or lawyer will invest in their education to do their jobs. There are many good affiliate marketing training courses available like Niche Profit Classroom.
They will try and test every way of increasing profits in their business and stay focused on the results. When they get profitable results then they rinse and repeat. Every successful franchise we know of does the same thing.
How much can I make?
The other thing new marketers seem over concerned about is the profit per sale. The more you make the better of course, but again this does not matter so much and even if you make only $10 per sale as long as you make a lot of sales you’ll still hit your goal. It is actually easier to sell higher-priced products that give a lot of value to the customer than it is to sell inexpensive products. Personally, I sell everything at any price as long as it shows a profit.
For example: I have sites that make only $10 per month. That’s $120/year. It cost me $60 a year to register and host the site. That’s 200% profit per year! It’s not a lot of money but why would you ever sell that? It only took 30 minutes to research and build it.
I have other sites that make $200/month or $2,400/year. It still costs $60/ year to host and register the site.. That’s a 4,000% profit! It still took me 30 minutes to turn $60/ year into $2,400/ year!
Even if you only made $100/ month on a site…
So what if you built 100 sites like that? (100 X 100 = $10,000/month) If it took the same amount of time or,
(30 minutes X 100 sites =3,000 minutes or about 48 hours) So 48 hours is about a week and a day of work at a regular job. How much do you get paid for that much work right now? How many weeks do you do that?
A Super Affiliate will work just as hard or harder for themselves as they would for an employer because they know they will continue to get paid for that effort. Let’s continue with our example…
Working 4 hours per day after your regular job, yes after your job you work for yourself. It would take 2 weeks and 2 days to finish the work and now you are making $10,000/ month. Is it worth it? Absolutely! What if you only made an extra $1,000 instead, it is still worth it? Um, YES!
Now here’s the key question. If your boss offered you an extra $10,000/month of pay if you could work 4 extra hours per day for 2 weeks and 2 days, would you do it? I bet most people would do that for their boss, but what amazes me is that they won’t do that for themselves!
What if you have to work those extra 4 hours per day for a whole year? Is it worth an extra $10,000/ month? I think so! A Super Affiliate has a different mindset that compels them to do that for their own business over and over again, rinse and repeat!
The next thing a Super Affiliate will do is re-invest the profits into the business so it will grow. A good way to do this is to outsource the work to skilled workers. A few hundred dollars taken from the business is paid to workers to grow the business by doing all the rinse and repeat work.
Of course, rinse and repeat only works if what you are repeating turns a profit. That’s where leveraging the knowledge of successful affiliate marketers saves you time and money and gets you what you want, RESULTS, much faster.
A Super Affiliate Marketer will stop at nothing to find a system that turns a profit and can be duplicated. How much is it going to cost to build your affiliate marketing business? Honestly? It’s going to cost time and money. Is it worth it? Absolutely!
